There is a accessibility options available in Windows XP where you can operate mouse using your keyboard. If your mouse is not working , you can use this feature. Follow these simple steps
Press windows logo button and yours start menu will appear. Now go to Control panel
Now you are in the control panel. Open Accessibility options
A window will appear with several tabs at the top. Go to Mouse and tick Use Mouse Keys and apply changes. You also click Settings tab and set mouse speed accordingly
