Tottenham vs Arsenal – 2nd October 2011

The first North London derby of the season gets underway on Sunday with Tottenham favourites for the White Hart Lane clash. Arsenal have had a poor start to the season having won just two of their last sixteen away games in all competitions. Arsene Wengers’ men have also only notched up two wins in the league this season, both at Emirates. But the Frenchman doesn’t believe location makes a difference. Arsene Wenger said in a press:

“The real test is the next game. The next game is Tottenham and it is of course a test. I never in my life could understand the difference between home and away, for me it’s a football match and no matter where you play you try to play well. I never could understand why in peoples’ heads there is a difference between away and home.”

Jack Wilshere for Arsenal remains sidelined due to long-term injury while Walcott is now fit to play after suffering from knee problem.

Tottenham will be confident enough to grab three points from this game as they have been unbeaten in their last five matches including a stunning win over Liverpool by 4-0. Moreover, Steven Pienaar might make his first appearance of the season tonight against Arsenal.
