Three people are dead and one woman was hospitalized following a wrong-way car crash in Bell County, Texas.
It was around 1:56 a.m. on Saturday, when officials were dispatched to IH-14 in response to a triple fatality crash.
The crash took place when a 2017 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 22-year-old identified as Matthew Fernandez was moving eastbound in the westbound lane on IH-14 and a 2013 Kia Optima, driven by a 20-year-old female was heading westbound when their vehicles crashed head-on.
The Toyota engulfed after the crash.
Fernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two rear seat passengers in the Kia died as well.
22-year-old Joshua Smith and a 20-year-old identified as Aaliyah Marie Peinado, of Nipomo, California were also pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Kia was transported hospitalized.
Texas Department of Public Safety investigated this crash.
