NOKIA LUMIA 920

After the constant rumors about the images of the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 being leaked online on Twitter, the first Windows Phone 8-compliant Lumias have been officially shown off at a special joint event by both Nokia and Microsoft on September 5th.

These phones are the first ever Windows 8 phones launched by Nokia and also with a modern dual core processor and the first with a HD Screen. After all, this is what the competing mobile ecosystems have been offering in their flagships for a while now, so Nokia finally had to offer something to go head on head against the latest Android developments.

The Nokia Lumia 920 sports a Pure view- grade Camera, has a 4.5 inch-ed capacitive multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and its CPU is a 1.5 Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset with LTE Radio to boot. It also includes 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory plus 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage. The display is also noticed to have other special features such as Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor and made of SCRATCH- RESISTANT GLASS.

It has a 8MP camera on its back with dual LED flash and special features like Back-illuminated sensor (BSI), Auto focus, Touch to focus, Optical image stabilization, Exposure control, White balance, Digital zoom, Geo tagging. Also, a 1.3 MP Front Facing Camera is present for video calling. The camera resolution is measured to be 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The screen tech is called PureMotion HD+, meaning blur-free scrolling on the curved glass display. Nokia calls it the “fastest LCD display”, with up to 2.5 times faster refresh rate and new supersensitive touch technology, that allows you to use it with gloves.

A new ClearBlack technology iteration is in the Lumia 920, and it adapts to the outside brightness to minimize reflectance. ClearBlack is proven to give the best smartphone visibility outside in direct sunlight, so the screen should be a looker. Pixel density on the new display is 332ppi, a record in its class, and it also sports a high-brightness mode of 600 nits.

The 2000 mAh Li-ion battery strength specifications are as follows:

(i)    Talktime: 17 hours
(ii)    Stand-by Time: 16.7 days
(iii)    Talktime (3G): 10 hours
(iv)    Stand-by Time (3G): 16.7 days
(v)    Music Playback: 67 hours
(vi)    Video Playback: 6 hours

Internet Browsing supports Internet Explorer 10 and also other built-in online services support such as Facebook, YouTube, Picasa, Twitter are available. All the other basic features such as GPS, Wi-Fi, Navigation, Messaging, Instant Messaging, Music player, Video Player are also available. Sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Voice dialing, Voice commands, Voice Recording are also available.

Some drawbacks of the Lumia 920 can be seen such as its Bulkiness and the Absence of a microSD Slot for memory expansion.

But a phone with a 1500 Mhz fast processor, 1024 MB of RAM is nothing less than POWERFUL…

It has been officially released on 5th September but there is no particular market sale date and price info available.
