Google changed its algorithm – Improving search quality

Google has recently changed its algorithm for search to improve its search quality. This could be bad news for webmasters having content farms. Google has made this change to reduce the ranksings of website with low quality content and they just want to maintain the quality of Google.

Google Spam team Engineer Matt Cutts has stated in the recent interview

“This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites. Google depends on the high quality content created by wonderful websites around the world, and we do have a responsibility to encourage a healthy web ecosystem. Therefore, it is important for high quality sites to be rewarded, and that’s exactly what this change does.”

Google’s search algorithm in charge Amit Singhal, said in an interview on Thursday that Google knew about this search spam more than 15 months ago, and has been working on a solution long before the current wave of criticism.

“Most of the changes that we make, and we make lots of them, are nowhere close to this level of impact,” Singhal said.
