The flag of United States was designed by a high school student

Robert Heft was a high school student who designed flag for United States of America. When he submitted this design to his history teacher, he didn’t like the design much and gave it a B grade. Robert decided to submit the design to Congress and convinced Mr. Pratt to raise his grade if the flag was accepted. On August 21th of the following year, President Eisenhower selected his design out of 1,600 submissions and then he called him up and gave hi, the good news that his B graded flag has been accepted.
