European Parliament accepts Ukraine’s application for EU membership

One day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted an application for Ukraine’s membership to the European Union (EU), the European Parliament has just accepted the request. The development came soon after Zelensky’s address to the Parliament.

Zelensky on Monday had signed the application for Ukraine to become a part of the European Union. The move took place just after Ukraine and Russia held talks in Belarus.

Zelensky today received a standing ovation at the European Parliament after his address was over.

The EU is yet to include Ukraine as a member.
