The WebSocket protocol has been updated from version 7 to version 8. However the design remains the same as of Firefox 6. It seems like Mozilla has only focused on bringing performance to this update. Also, when you use Firefox 7, you will notice that the ‘http://’ URL prefix is now hidden by default
