Ukraine Russia war 2022

CIA provided Ukraine with vital intelligence in first days of war

“The CIA director provided a vital piece of intelligence that helped Ukraine significantly in the first days of the war: He warned that Russian forces planned to seize Antonov Airport in Hostomel… and use it to fly in troops for a push to take Kiev,” according to a report published by The Wall Street Journal on 1 April 2022.

On 26 February, Russia had alleged the US of providing intelligence to the Ukrainian navy to help attack Russian warships in the Black Sea but US had rejected this claim.

After a month of fierce battles near Kiev, the Russian forces pulled out of the region to regroup and reinforce the Eastern front.
