Indian rupee ends 2022 as one of the worst-performing Asian currencies.
It fell 11.3% to finish the year at 82.72 against the US dollar.
In 2021, Rupee ended at 74.33
Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been evasive about the concerns related to the falling value of Indian rupee.
Her statement “Rupee is not sliding, dollar is strengthening,” from October 2022 had received heavy criticism for being factually incorrect.
