The winners of Champions League, Barcelona, and the winners of Europa League, Porto, meet each other at Monaco for European super Cup. Barcelona played Real Madrid over two legs in the Spanish Super Cup last week, and for all Barcelona won 5-4 on aggregate. The Catalans will be looking to grab second trophy but Porto can’t be underestimated as they have their full squad ready to face the Spanish giants tonight.Barcelona’s captain Carlos Puyol is still sidelined due to injury and Gerard Pique has also been ruled out due to injury in his left calf muscle. Newly signed Sanchez and Cesc Fabregas will be playing tonight but more likely they will be coming from the substitute bench.
Porto are without their manager Andre Villas as the he has moved to Chelsea this summer. Their new manager Vitor Pereira admitted that Barcelona is the best team in the world but he is confident enough to win this game. Pereira said:
“We’re here on our own merit following a great season. We know Barcelona are a great team, but we’re not here to see them play. We came here to win this game so we have the ingredients for a great spectacle.”
Both Barcelona and Porto entertaining football and it will surely be a thrilling night of European action.
