Ukraine has lost access to the Sea of Azov

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported on March 18 that it had lost access to the Sea of Azov as Russian forces are tightening their control around the major port city of Mariupol, known for being a stronghold of the Ukrainian neo-Nazi Azov Battalion.

While Kiev stresses that the loss is “temporary,” an array of military experts believe that Russia is on the verge of annihilating Ukraine’s remaining forces in the area and taking entire control over the city.
